The Opera Queensland chorus operates on a seasonal basis with rehearsals and productions falling between February and October each year. Rehearsals for each production are generally held outside business hours.

Chorus auditions are held at the Opera Queensland Studio, Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University South Bank in around October each year. To be eligible to audition, you must complete a Chorus Auditions Form and post it to Opera Queensland along with a recent photo and a current CV that clearly sets out your experience to date. Please keep your details to one A4 page.

Auditionees must prepare two arias with at least one of the arias being in a language other than English. An Opera Queensland accompanist will be in attendance at every audition. Auditionees who elect to use our accompanist are required to provide copies of their music, clearly marked up and in the key in which they will be singing. Music in plastic display books and unbound sheets are not acceptable. Auditionees wishing to rehearse with the official accompanist may do so by private arrangement as there will be no run through on audition day. Accompanist details will be available two weeks prior to the audition date. Auditionees may bring their own accompanist to be registered on the Audition Form.
