General Auditions
General Auditions for principal, minor principal and understudy roles are held by Opera Queensland once a year. Consideration for other performing positions will be given as part of the General Auditions.
IMPORTANT: Applications to the 2012 General Auditions close 27 February, 2012.
2012 General Audition Dates and Location
Dates: 9 and 10 March, 2012
Location: Conservatorium Theatre, South Bank
Applications and Preparation
Auditionees must prepare:
• Two arias from opera or operetta, with at least one being in a language other than English
• A single page resume
• A recent passport-sized photograph
To be eligible to audition, you must complete a General Auditions Form and email (preferred) to Opera Queensland at auditions@operaqueensland.com.au or mail to Auditions Co-ordinator, Opera Queensland, PO Box 3677, South Brisbane QLD 4101.
Accompaniment
An Opera Queensland accompanist will be in attendance at every audition. Auditionees who elect to use our accompanist are required to provide copies of their music, clearly marked up and in the key in which they will be singing. Music in plastic display books and unbound sheets are not acceptable. Auditionees wishing to rehearse with the official accompanist may do so by private arrangement as there will be no run-through on audition day. Accompanist details will be available two weeks prior to the audition date.
Auditionees may bring their own accompanist to be registered on the audition form or by phone at least one week prior to the audition.

International Artists
