Summary
A week long in-school residency where students work with the Moving Opera! professionals on a daily basis to improve vocal and drama techniques.
The residency culminates with a showcase concert at the end of the week, giving participants the opportunity to perform in front of peers, family and the local community. We recommend this event be used as a fundraising event for the school.
There is more to Moving Opera! than just singing! Participants, teachers and parents consistently comment on the transformational impact of the program, which has been referred to as ‘life-changing’ with students developing increased confidence, discipline and focus; particularly by those in remote, regional and at-risk communities.
Suitability
Relevant for students of instrumental music, vocal music, dance, drama, and those with a keen interest in the performing arts. This program can be tailored for Beginners to Advanced.
Workshop Capacity
Maximum of 35 participants per workshop.
‘A major confidence boost: an opportunity to meet
new people and to learn about opera and the techniques involved with singing. Overall, an amazing and unforgettable experience that I would love to do again.’
Rebecca, Year 9 Student, Moranbah State High School
