Bradley Daley
Bradley studied at the University of
Southern Queensland and the Queensland
Conservatorium Griffith University before
going on to study in the UK and USA.
Bradley’s international engagements include the
roles of Rodolfo in La bohème and Staff Officer
in the world première of The Silver Tassie (for English National Opera),
Lenski in Eugene Onegin (for Riverside Opera), Boris in Katya Kabanova
(for Opera North), Caius in Falstaff (for Stanley Hall Opera), Alfred in Die
Fledermaus (for Opera Holland Park), Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto (for
Mid Wales Opera), Cavaradossi in Tosca (for Opera del Mar), Samson in
Samson et Dalila (at Brangwyn Hall in Wales), Manrico in Il trovatore (at
the Grosses Festspielhaus in Salzburg), Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana (for
Kentish Opera), Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore (for Garden Opera), Alfredo
in La traviata (at the Gulbenkian Theatre in Kent), Canio in Pagliacci (at the
Hanoi Opera House), Don José in Carmen (for Riverside Opera, London
City Opera, Opera Holland Park and Opéra Nomade), Edgardo in Lucia di
Lammermoor (for Opéra Nomade and Opera Holland Park), Riccardo in
Un ballo in maschera (for English National Opera and Compagnia d’Opera
Italiana di Milano), Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly (for English National
Opera, Co-Opera Ireland and at Royal Festival Hall London), Gunther in
The Triumph of Spirit Over Matter, Billy in Mahagonny Songspiel and Bill in Happy End (at the Muziektheater Transparant in Belgium) and Jack in Love
Burns (at the Alte Staathaus in Vienna).
Bradley’s concert repertoire includes Dvorˇák’s Stabat Mater, Verdi’s
Requiem, Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Mendelssohn’s Die erste
Walpurgisnacht, Elijah and Hymn of Praise, Handel’s Messiah, Williamson’s
The Glitter Gang, Elgar’s The Kingdom, Gounod’s Messe Solennelle de
Sainte Cécile and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. He has appeared with the
Britten Sinfonia and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and performed at the
Prague Music Festival, St John’s, Smith Square, the Barbican and at the
Worcester and Canterbury Cathedrals.
His Australian engagements include the roles of Rodolfo in La bohème (for Opera Australia), Remendado in Carmen and understudying the role
of Florestan in Fidelio, which he subsequently performed for the whole
season (for Opera Queensland), Dick Johnson in La fanciulla del West (for
State Opera of South Australia) and appearing in the touring production of
Monty Python’s Not the Messiah.
